Why are there downtimes?

We aim for near 100% uptime for all the servers under the Egg Baby platform. That being said, you may encounter downtime for your websites and servers due to the following:

  1. Server care which includes updates to a server which requires us to restart the server after these updates. Downtime expected: less than 15 minutes.

We will restart a server twice a month to maintain optimal health of the server, especially in the event that there were no server restarts in a consecutive two weeks' period.

  2. Hardware upgrades of the data center which is out of our control. We will be informed as soon the respective data center representatives let us know, and we will inform you as soon as we know.

  3. For whatever reason that the drives have failed on your VPS, the respective data center will inform us, and will make replacements ASAP. While this is a rare occurrence, we still have to mentally prepare you of its possibility.

  4. Blackouts or power failures can also cause unexpected downtime to servers. We endeavour to inform you as soon as we are aware of it. Same thing as drive failures, although a rare occurrence, this may cause downtimes and is out of our control as well.
